This past Friday and Saturday, Rosary’s very own water polo team participated in the 2nd Annual Warriors Winter Classic. Royals on the water polo team have been practicing and training non-stop in order to prepare for this anticipated tournament. Hosted by Fullerton College on Friday and Troy High School on Saturday, many friends and families came to support the team.
Royals played a total of four games, and they won three of them. Despite the chilly weather, they persevered and came out on top. An exciting highlight from the third game is their 14-8 victory against Buena High School.
At the end of the tournament, Royals had the pleasure of taking home a trophy that will remind them of their hard work. This victory was an exciting experience that left the Rosary community very proud of our very own students.
Senior Alexis Velasquez shared her thoughts on the tournament: “It was a good learning experience, and I think this tournament really showed us how we can improve for next time.” Her teammate, Avery Rabago ‘25 added, “It felt so rewarding to bring home a trophy after a long weekend of playing.” These seniors share great insight on how sports can be beneficial and valuable to students.
Congratulations to the Rosary water polo on their victories this past week. Royals are already off to a great start as they participate in the Pacific Coast Conference. We wish them the best of luck for the rest of their season.
