On Friday, Jan. 17, Model UN will host a Jeans Day to raise funds for a conference in April. This is the first Model United Nations conference Rosary is hosting, so they are fundraising to help prepare. Hosting a conference for multiple schools is a big task to take on, as Rosary will be hosting around 400 students across multiple high schools. Model UN appreciates all support from the students and to best show your support they ask that you participate in the spirit dress on Friday.
Model UN’s president, Tahlia Jain ‘26 shared the importance of participating in and supporting the MUN club. Tahlia shared, “The Model United Nations spirit dress day fundraiser on Friday is going to help us host our conference in April, where students from all over Orange County will come to Rosary for a day of debate.” This will definitely be a large event to host and plan for! Since they are taking on a lot of students, Tahlia says the fundraising will help “buy supplies, pay for the TK Burger truck, purchase a web domain, and more; every dollar helps!”
MUN’s advisor, Mrs. Ward, also emphasized the importance MUN holds in the Rosary community. Mrs. Ward expressed, “It is important as a Catholic school we support ideas of social justice and humanitarian ideals.” She also added, “Model UN allows students to participate in these global issues every day and by supporting Model UN through fundraisers like bake sales and spirit dress you are enabling students to further pursue these topics.”
To participate in this fundraiser, you must pay $2 to wear spirit dress. With $2 donated you can wear jeans and a Servite or Rosary top this Friday. Do not forget to dress in jeans on Friday to support Model UN!
