Last Sunday, Dec. 8, Rosary held the third annual Mother-Daughter Christmas Brunch. Sold out for the past two years, this year it was hosted in the Anaheim Marriott ballroom. This year the brunch was also opened to Rosary alumna, sisters and relatives of current students. Mrs. Michelle French, Rosary’s Event and Parent Programming Manager, said, “This joyful event is guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit while making memories with your daughter.” This anticipated event is always a great way to begin the holiday season with friends and family!
The brunch began at 9 a.m. and carried on until 2 p.m. As guests entered the ballroom, they were first brought to get their photo taken with a festive Christmas background. After their pictures were taken, there were several boutique vendors around the room to browse from. While the guests shopped at the different booths, they enjoyed Shirley temples and posed alongside holiday decorations. Junior Melina Gonzalez said she “loved shopping at the boutiques with my mom and spending time with my friends.”
Once the tables opened at 10:30 a.m., mothers and daughters were able to find their seats and meet others at their tables. Shortly after, the brunch buffet opened with an assortment of breakfast staples including French toast, potatoes and various pastries. While everyone enjoyed their breakfast, the Holly Belles, a singing trio, provided live Christmas entertainment to the room.
In review, the brunch was a successful kick-off to the holiday season and provided quality time for Royal families! Melina also noted that she “loved the decorations and jewelry boxes they made for us; enjoyed the holiday carolers that were singing.” As a commemorative gift, the committee for the Mother-Daughter Brunch gifted each guest a jewelry travel case with the Rosary “R.” The Robotics Team also 3D printed ornaments that resembled a mother and a daughter for guests to keep. From the committee members to the volunteers and students, it was a joint effort to ensure the Mother-Daughter Brunch was a success!
