With Thanksgiving around the corner, Rosary needed a way to celebrate thankfulness and our Lord all in one. Due to this, on Nov. 19, Rosary held their Mass of Gratitude to celebrate these two things together, and the Mass was celebrated with the entirety of the student and staff body.
The Scripture readings came from the Gospel of Luke, which talked about Jesus healing the lepers, the same people that society would not take care of; in the homily, Father Ian connected the readings to being grateful because in the readings, only one leper came back to Jesus which showed his gratefulness.
In addition, the Chiaretta Memorial Scholarship was given out. This scholarship is also given out to a senior who is described as bright, loving, intelligent and a blessing to the Rosary community. This memorial scholarship is given out because of a former Rosary student who was described as all of these traits and unfortunately passed away. The student to receive this scholarship was Kayla Tolentino ’25, congratulations Kayla!
Sophomore Siena Discanio enjoyed this beautiful Mass. She expressed, “This Mass was truly beautiful and really taught you what to focus on and be grateful for.” Fellow student Alexis Perez ’27, agreed with Siena. She stated, “I now do have a more profound appreciation for the things I am provided with.”
I think every Royal can agree with Alexis and Siena. This Mass was beautiful and gave each student a different perspective on what to be grateful for.
