With Thanksgiving coming up and Christmas just around the corner, that can only lead to Rosary’s favorite tradition, Red & Gold, coming closer and closer each day. On Jan. 18, the week before Red & Gold Kickoff, Rosary’s 21st annual Red, Wine & Gold will take place at Rosary, and it is open to anyone over the age of 21. Earlier this week, Rosary hosted a donation drive to collect gifts and prizes for the event.
Since 2003, this Rosary tradition was meant to bond parents and include them in the joy and excitement the girls feel for their upcoming tradition, Red & Gold. Our parents will taste many different flavorful wines and delicious foods from local restaurants, while silent and live auctions are held. The money raised from this event will be used to help with tuition assistance for students, making it a great way of giving back to the Royal community.
As a kickoff to the new year, vendors and sponsors help put on this event by donating wines, foods and auction items for the parents to enjoy and bid on. Donations such as wine, sports tickets, designer accessories, vacation homes and resort stays will be available to bid on at Rosary during the evening.
One of our Spanish teachers, who has enjoyed this tradition, shared her experiences from attending in the past. Senora Kam said, “I have gone to Red, Wine & Gold, and it is so much fun! They always have delicious food and so many different goodies. Everyone always dresses really nice, and it is a great event for the parents to get to know each other and for the teachers to meet the parents and mingle with the other teachers and staff at Rosary.”
Some Royal parents Adina and Craig Braatz, who have a daughter currently at Rosary and a Rosary alumna, have gone to the event and also said how they loved their many experiences. They shared, “Every year we look forward to attending Red, Wine & Gold. It is always an amazing evening of enjoying local foods, specialty wines and our community coming together. We love opportunities to support Rosary and the girls.”
Ultimately, this is guaranteed to be a great time, so make sure to tell your parents, aunt, uncles and grandparents to come and join in the fun on Jan. 18!
