This week, Royals can “serve the dear neighbor” by donating to the Thanksgiving Food Drive. There will be collection bins outside of the Campus Ministry Room (Room Nine) and outside the Main Office. Acceptable donations include canned food and shelf-stable food articles.
In addition, students who bring five cans of food will receive a sweatpants day, and the class that brings the most cans will get a pizza party during lunch.
Executive Director of Campus Ministry Mrs. Kearns ‘98 added, “Our desire to fully live out our school Charism calls us to ‘serve the neighbor without distinction’ throughout the year. We don’t want our student body to simply recite the Charism but to put it into action by ‘feeding the hungry’ this holiday season. Our Mass of Gratitude focused on ‘the response’–we will respond in gratitude for all the blessings we have received by taking care of those who have very little.”
Junior Matilda Simmons agreed, explaining, “I think the food drive is a great opportunity to show our love to the community and lend a helping hand to those in need.”
Royals, please give to the food drive this week!
