This past Monday, Rosary had their sophomore day with Servite. The day started with Mass and icebreakers and ended in bowling and new friendships. The icebreakers were especially great for Rosary girls and Servite guys to get to know each other and what interests they share.
Servite staff spoke about friendships, relationships and evaluating relationships. As we learned about different types of friendships and what makes a good friend, the people at my table laughed and bonded as we shared our opinions and thoughts. Sharing his thoughts on this part of the retreat, Ben Byrne ’27 shared, “The formation day with Rosary was a fun experience and I enjoyed talking and getting to know more about my fellow Friars and my Rosary sisters.”
During Mass, we heard from Lexie Curtis ’27 and Diego Chaverra ’27 with the First and Second Readings. Commenting on mass, Curtis shared “I personally thought the Mass was so beautiful, and the music team actually killed it. It was really nice to spend the time with God, our brothers and fellow sisters. The Mass was a great way to start off our week.” The Homily was inspiring to many students as it focused on the Sisterhood and Brotherhood that Rosary and Servite formed together. The music at Mass was provided by fellow Rosary and Servite students, Sarah Conley ’27, Sophie Lickl ’27 and Dominic Morales ’27 did an incredible job performing and help capture the wonderful Mass in all its glory.
Lastly, Rosary and Servite went bowling at Bowelro, which was filled with bowling and arcade games. Joseph Doornek ’27 expressed, “The sophomore formation day at Rosary was a great opportunity to get to know my fellow Royals and Friars more deeply.” Kylie Kennedy ’27 shares her reflection on the day: “This day was chance for us to grow closer with our brothers in Christ and continue to grow those relationships with our Rosary sisters.”
Overall, both Royals and Friars will truly never forget what they learned on this special day.
