Royals, if you know any girls who are looking into Rosary or trying to find their perfect fit for high school, make sure to direct them towards Rosary’s upcoming shadow days! There are four official shadow days in the future that fall on special rallies and one mass day. Keep reading below for more information on each shadow day.
On Nov. 20 Rosary is going to have their winter sports rally, in which the winter season sports (soccer, basketball, wrestling and water polo) are promoted. Each team will be responsible for creating and sharing a video to show off their sport and ASB will lead several games. The winter sports rally is sure to ignite loud cheering, excitement and support from the rest of the school. It is also a great opportunity to for prospective Royals to check out the different sports they may be interested in.
Ms. Kelly Cole ’10, is Rosary’s Director of Admissions and helps arrange the shadow days, school visits and so much more. Sharing some of the main benefits of attending shadow days, she stated, “Picking the right high school is a big decision for any eighth grader! Attending a shadow day gives prospective students a first-hand look at the amazing all-girl advantage and what makes Rosary special! Our Rosary ambassadors help ease those concerns, answer those questions, and help our middle schoolers envision themselves as Future Royals!”
The next shadow day is after Christmas break, and we really get to show how special Rosary is during this rally. On Feb. 13, the Red & Gold rally will take place to initiate our deeply cherished tradition. Each side will chant Rosary’s cheers and compete during games to see which side is the loudest. This rally is so much fun and is a great time to see Rosary’s bright personality.
Suzanne Murillo ’27, an ambassador who also shadowed Rosary when she was in eighth grade, shared her shadow day experience, “My favorite part of my shadow day was meeting the students at Rosary. Everyone was super kind and welcoming. Now that I am an ambassador, I love being able to make new shadows feel as welcome as I did.”
Lastly, March 12 is the spring sports rally, and March 19 is St. Joseph’s mass, making these the last official shadow days on the calendar. If a shadow plays any spring sports such as softball, lacrosse, beach volleyball, swim or track and field, they will want to attend this special rally to see what each sports team is like. On the other hand, the mass in dedication to St. Joseph shows the faith and service side of Rosary Academy; it is a beautiful opportunity to experience the Catholic traditions we perform as a school!
In all, Rosary has many shadow day opportunities for prospective Royals to take advantage of. Each of these days are special to Rosary and are a great chance to explore all the different aspects Rosary Academy can offer. However, even if you can’t make any of the scheduled shadow days, Ms. Kelly Cole is always open to emails for alternative days to shadow our school. We hope to see you soon!
