This Thursday, Rosary had the honor of carrying the Blessed Sacrament through our community: the Eucharistic procession. This was a beautiful event that celebrates the presence of Jesus Christ, so let’s take a look at what it all means!
The Procession is not ceremonial, it holds great communal and theological meanings. As Catholics, and through the Eucharistic Procession, we show our devotion to our faith in the public eye. By believing Jesus is there, this event is a visible testimony to our belief that Jesus holds a Real Presence.
Leading us down Acacia, through Melody and the back parking lot, the Procession took around 20 minutes. As someone who was in the front of the line, I can testify to the fact that this event was gorgeous. Nahomi Saito ‘25 also really loved the event as she stated, “In walking with my friends by my side I really felt His Presence. The weather was perfect, and it was a super reverent time. We prayed, sang and walked as one to demonstrate our faith in Christ.”
This is the first year that Rosary has held the Procession, and it turned out wonderfully. Avery Rabago ‘25 had a great time as she explained, “I’m sad that this is the first year Rosary does a Eucharistic procession, and it is my last – but overall, I was very grateful to be able to experience this with my closest friends.”
Overall, the Procession was amazing. Not only were we surrounded by God’s presence, but we were given a break in our day to be with the Lord, something that is special and unique to Rosary. Whether Catholic or not, this time of reflection and meditation was much needed and a beautiful way to spend part of our Thursday afternoon.
