This Halloween saw many tricks, treats and most of all…costumes! Year by year we see new costumes grace our Rosary campus and introduce us to fun and unique characters. This year was no exception, so I decided to go through a few of the one-of-a-kind costumes and rate them!
- Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie
This costume has a special story behind it, so I’ll let Celine Asido ‘25, aka Twilight Sparkle, tell us how she and Gabrielle Lazo ‘25 came up with this idea: “In second grade, Gabby and I loved My Little Pony, so for Halloween, we dressed up as our favorite characters: Twilight Sparkle & Pinkie Pie! Fast forward to high school, we made a pact sophomore year that we should recreate our picture during our senior year Halloween. It was so much fun recreating it, and it definitely made us realize how time flies by so fast!”
This costume is absolutely adorable, and so is the story behind it. I admire their dedication after all these years to commit to a lasting friendship and pact. This would get a 10/10, but Celine did have to make some in-class alterations to her hairpiece during our AP French class. For the stray synthetic hair that was cut on our desks, I’ll give it a 9.5/10!
- Guy Fieri
This costume left trails of flames all over campus. A group costume is always iconic, but a group of Guy Fieris takes the cake. The coordination was impeccable and the wigs certainly completed the look. On why her friends chose this costume, Christina Vaughan ’26 shared, “We dressed like Guy Fieri because it was easy and funny. Guy Fieri is so iconic and it was so fun to get to be matching with my friends!” While this costume brings the heat, the heat from Flavortown is too much for me to handle, so this one gets a 9/10!
- Ed Sheeran
A group costume that can be spotted from a mile away, this group of Ed Sheeren albums sure knows their PEMDAS. Each album cover donned a ginger wig to pay homage to their artist lookalike. On why this group chose this costume, Nahomi Vallejo-Saito ’25 shared, “We decided to be Ed Sheeran for Halloween because we love Ed Sheeran! He’s a very funny and talented musician, and we thought it would be fun to all be different Ed Sheeran albums. Also, he’s a ginger, so our wigs would give us good luck.” The luck of the Irish prevails yet again! I unfortunately am not a big Ed Sheeren fan, but I can recognize the genius in this costume. This one gets a 8.5/10 from me.
4. The Creature from Frankenstein
It wouldn’t be Halloween without a spooky costume, and what better than the classic monster: the Creature from Frankenstein. Ms. Alexa Brinegar ’16 wore a costume that emulated the Creature, which was perfect timing with her AP Lit class reading Frankenstein! On why she chose this costume, Ms. B shares, “I chose to dress up as the Creature to give my students an idea of what he looks like in the book. I used makeup to look as cadaverous as possible. I wore a coat similar to the one Victor Frankenstein would have left behind, and I carried a book in the pocket, just like the Creature. Of course, the Creature would not have worn heels; however, I wore my tallest boots in order to look unnaturally large. Sadly, very few of my students recognized me.” I love to see the dedication to achieving the height, but Ms. B’s heels still couldn’t reach the stature of the 8-foot-tall Creature. For that reason, this one gets a 9/10.
No matter what costume you wore, I hope you had a fun Halloween and Halloweekend. These costumes and so many more were creative and unique. Let this article serve as potential inspiration for next year!

Ms. B’s costume was also my favorite! Very morbid…

Thanks, Adreanna! I love to add a touch of melancholia to a holiday. It’s one of my special talents.
