As someone who loves coffee and has many friends who share the same interest, I’ve decided to explore local coffee shops and share recommendations from myself and my fellow seniors.
First off, we have my all-time favorite: Made Coffee. Maybe it’s because this coffee shop is five minutes from my house, which makes it super convenient, but in my opinion, it has some of the best coffee in all of Fullerton. Their Fullerton location is located in the heart of Downtown Fullerton and I must say their choice of music creates a lively environment but also the perfect place to study. My personal favorite and go-to is an Iced Vanilla Latte and the banana nut muffin.
Of course, I can’t fail to mention Starbucks. I personally like Starbucks because it’s convenient as you can just go through the drive-thru and head on to school. But, I think it’s a hit or miss because it all depends on who makes your coffee and if they even get the order right.
Another convenient one has to be the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I discovered the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf not too long ago and fell in love, so whenever I get the chance, I pass by for my seasonal favorite: the Pumpkin Dry Iced Americano with half & half.
Senior Gabby Lazo suggests Philz Coffee, she says, “I really love Philz Coffee, I think it’s really good coffee, and my usual order is the Iced Coffee Rosé. I’ve also heard their Iced Mint Mojito is really good, and I also like knowing which barista made my coffee because it makes the experience much more personal.”
Another good recommendation would be Tierra Mia, as they have a wide variety of drinks and Mexican-inspired drinks which never fail. Also, their pastries are very good! Savina Padilla ‘25 says, “Tierra Mia is the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life; I love getting their Iced Coconut Latte and I have to go at least three times a week.”
Another great coffee shop in downtown Fullerton would be The Mugs. They have exquisite drinks that are super good. For example, banana caramel latte, tiramisu latte, honey lavender latte, rose matcha latte and so many more.
Another coffee shop recommended by Senior Chelsea Beltran is Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders. Chelsea says, “Bodhi leaf is so good! They have the best iced coffee and the best sandwiches for lunch, my favorites are the Iced Caramel Latte and the chipotle chicken sandwich: definitely a must try.”
So whichever one of these coffee shops appeals to you, make sure you give it a try! And if you have any recommendations you would like to share, make sure you leave a comment.
