From scientist to full-time working mother, Mrs. Hunt is an inspiration to us all. She has been teaching for over 20 years and has filled Rosary with light. This week, I did a Q&A with her where she shared a bit about her Rosary experience.
The first question I asked was: at the beginning of your career, what motivated you to become a teacher? Mrs. Hunt said that she always knew she wanted to help people. However, throughout high school and college, she expressed that she had great teachers and professors who ignited a passion for learning within her; thus, she wanted to share that with others. Finally, she noted that she wanted to make science (commonly perceived as a boring subject) fun and interesting!
Next we discussed something a little less serious, but I had to know: what was it like switching to Rosary from Bosco? Mrs. Hunt said that it was “wildly different.” She noted that obviously, boys are very different than girls and that she loved teaching there – but she wouldn’t ever go back.
I also asked what she loves most about being a teacher. Other than her amazing students, she loves the expression on their faces when they have their “a-ha moment” after they understand a concept. She loves seeing our eyes light up when everything clicks!
In regards to her newest occupation, I wanted to know how life has been as an administrator. Again, she said, “wildly different” but that she is enjoying this new position. She especially loves helping the other teachers. Even though she said it’s difficult to be in between teacher and administrator, Mrs. Hunt expressed that she is just not ready to let teaching go (as someone who has taken AP Bio with her, I can testify that she ADORES teaching these classes.)
By the end of our interview, Mrs. Hunt was at a loss for words due to her gratitude and how much she loves working here at Rosary. Let’s all show her some extra appreciation for dedicating so much of her time to our community!
