In Sra. Kam’s Spanish III class this week, students have been assessed on a project where they take a walk down memory lane, and write about things they used to do when they were younger. This helps them practice the imperfect tense. For many girls in this class, nostalgia was brought up when writing about their childhood. Each student had to make a book and write about things they did or liked as a young child in Spanish. The creative juices of the juniors and sophomores who did this project were definitely running when they reminisced on their childhoods.
Many Royals wrote about their love of Disney, as they would go to Disneyland often or love for a Disney Princess. Junior Addi Sciarra explained, “My favorite Disney Princess is Elsa, I would love going to see her at Disneyland.”
Royals also wrote about their favorite childhood TV shows and movies. Katrina McCown ‘26 said, “I loved Cartoon Network and ‘Regular Show.’ It was my favorite show growing up.”
Like many other juniors, Vanessa Ramos said she loved going to the park as a child and riding bikes. Going to the park was such a fun activity that a lot of Royals wrote about.
Learning how to write in the past tense and reminiscing on childhood activities was a fun way to learn Spanish. It’s always fun to have hands-on projects to learn more about Spanish.
