This past Friday was a memorable event for Rosary, Servite, Bosco and St. Josephs high school. Servite’s Varsity football team had the fortunate opportunity to compete against St. John Bosco at the SoFi Stadium. Originally, the Bosco vs. Servite game was scheduled to be played at the Santa Ana Bowl, but former professional football player, Rob Gronkowski, sponsored both schools and gave them the opportunity to play at SoFi Stadium. This game was significant for both Servite and Bosco because it was the third game to be played there for a boys’ high school football game.
This event was not only special for the players, but it was also for the parents, families, cheerleaders, students and teachers who were able to make it out to support the Servite football team. Those who went were able to watch the game from great seats, eat a variety of different foods, walk around the stadium at half time and make memories that will never be forgotten. Keep reading below to hear from one of our awesome cheerleaders and amazing students on how their experience at Sofi was.
Junior Katrina McCown, who had the opportunity to cheer on the sidelines says, “It felt surreal, being able to cheer there, but I was so excited because I knew it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Sophomore Jackie Liao shared how much she enjoyed the game too: “My experience watching the Servite game was exciting! It was my first time at Sofi, and I liked how it felt like an event but also casual at the same time. I had fun walking around at halftime and seeing all different people I knew from Rosary, Servite and Bosco. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot!”
After hearing about how much fun everyone had at the game, it makes us all wish that we could go again. Thankfully we are so blessed with the new opportunities that always come our way. Maybe sometime in our future we will have the chance to play there again. Until next time, SoFi!
