Hey Royals! It’s October, which means it’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. One of our clubs on campus, the Pink Journey Foundation, is hosting a raffle for a pink beach cruiser. This pink cruiser is only available through the raffle and the last day to enter is October 28. Each raffle ticket costs $20, and they can be purchased in room eight. All of the proceeds from this raffle will be donated directly to the Pink Journey Foundation club. The Pink Journey Foundation club has raised money through multiple events. During the pink out spirit day, they raised over $1,500 which is also being donated to the foundation along with all the proceeds from the Asylum shirts will be donated.
Mrs. Huerta ‘94 gave me some more information about the raffle. She shared, “Not only can you win this super cute pink beach cruiser, but also, all the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Pink Journey Foundation.” For those who don’t know much about the Pink Journey Foundation Mrs. Huerta explained, “The Pink Journey Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to provide breast cancer education to every woman, help reduce risk, lead to early detection and save lives. They provide optimism, knowledge and support from diagnosis through survivorship.” This raffle is for a great cause, and all students should enter to support this foundation!
One member of the Pink Journey Foundation club, Brigid LeVecke ‘26, also told me of the importance of the raffle saying, “The organization helps support women and provide more aid towards finding a solution to breast cancer.” That said, large participation in this raffle is important because it is for a good cause that lifts up women; for a chance to win a pink cruiser, do not forget to enter the raffle by October 28!
