Happy Fall! Or should I say… happy flu season! With Fall now upon us, it’s time to get your annual flu vaccine. Luckily, there’s a vaccine clinic happening this Friday, September 27. To learn more about it, I asked our beloved nurses here at Rosary a couple questions:
Q: Why is it important for Royals to go to this clinic and get vaccinated for the flu?
A: The Rosary Flu Vaccine Clinic is being offered as a convenience to our students, faculty and staff. It is completely optional. Students should consult their primary care physician and parent/guardian, to ascertain what is best for her. It’s important to note that getting the influenza vaccine does not give you the flu.
Q: What is the set-up of the clinic? Are there multiple volunteers who administer the vaccines?
A: The clinic will be held on Friday, September 27th from 9–11 a.m. in the Conference Room on the second floor of Rosary’s campus. The pharmacist from Albertson’s will be administering the vaccines, and one of our Rosary Nurses will be there to facilitate the morning, and offer comfort to anyone who may be anxious about getting a shot. Parents/guardians can register their student for a flu vaccine by using the link below, or using the QR code. If you are signed up, don’t forget to wear a short-sleeved shirt! Please reach out to the Nurses if you have any questions!
