This past weekend, the Rosary community hosted Cracked Crab, an annual fundraiser for our sports department and Rosary fund. The event had our beloved parents laughing, dancing, supporting the Rosary community and making memories that they are sure to cherish.
The setting was beautiful, and there was a live band that played cheerful and vibrant music that complimented the evening nicely. The bar was worked by our Rosary coaches, and it was a major success! All the coaches, teachers and parents were able to enjoy themselves as they helped raise funds by purchasing libations at the bar.
In the Karcher Center, the parents ate from a wonderful buffet full of crab and BBQ. Alumae parent, Mr. Schmitt, let the event borrow his amazing barbeque and all of the adult volunteers did a wonderful job cooking the food. There were students from Rosary and Servite who helped serve food and sell raffle tickets led by adult volunteers and coaches who helped organize the event.
My mother, Lydia Conley, was a co-chair of the event and thought the night was a fun and memorable evening: “Cracked Crab was a fabulous evening filled with community, delicious food, and the best bartenders in town! Guests partied the night away with a silent disco shutting the night down at 11:00 p.m.! It was a classy evening filled with lots of fun, laughter, and success.”
One of the student volunteers, Kayleen Dee ’27, worked the event and had a great time helping her school community and hanging out with her friends. She shared, “I had so much fun volunteering for Cracked Crab! I would definitely recommend to volunteer if you wanted to serve the community while spending time with friends!”
Additionally, there were entries for a raffle for a Hawaii trip, a “heads or tails” game, and the opportunity to purchase exclusive Rosary merchandise; Cracked Crab offered numerous ways for our parents to aid our athletic and academic departments.
Then, to top the night, a silent disco was held that had many parents up and dancing. In all, Cracked Crab was a great event that brought our Rosary community together in a truly fun and fabulous way!
