This 2024-2025 school year, Rosary welcomed many new teachers. A new addition to our Rosary History department is Ms. Kelly, who teaches World History and Honors World History for sophomores. She graduated from Esperanza High School and UCLA and now finds herself teaching at Rosary Academy. Here are some fun facts to get to know Ms. Kelly!
Q: What inspired you to become a teacher?
A: I was inspired to become a teacher when I started tutoring in high school. I used to tutor at the Kumon Learning Center, and I loved helping children grow academically. I am passionate about learning and I strongly believe everyone deserves an excellent education.
Q: What made you pursue teaching History?
A: I have always found history to be fascinating: I loved learning about the past and how humanity has changed over time. I think the study of history is so important in understanding our world today.
Q: How did you find yourself at Rosary?
A: I chose Rosary Academy because it is an excellent school and prioritizes the most important aspects of education. The Catholic values of Rosary really make the school feel like a warm community that values inclusivity, sisterhood, and faith.
Q: What is your favorite part of history?
A: My favorite part of history is learning how people in the past used to live. There are so many ways we as humans have changed over the decades of history, and it is fascinating to compare our modern lives with the ways of the past.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends. I love going to concerts, music is my favorite thing! If I am not with my friends or family, I love to read or bake something sweet!
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: My favorite food ever is sushi. I could eat sushi every day. I also love any dessert that has chocolate.
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: I do! I have a Border Collie named Bailey. She has a lot of energy and I love her very much!
