Addison Hansen ‘26 has officially committed to a college as a junior! In addition to being a starter on our Rosary Varsity Soccer team, she is also a key player on her club team outside of school. She will be attending the University of Montana to continue her soccer journey. Since I grew up with her, I remember her obsession with Alex Morgan and her overall love for the sport. I had the chance to ask her questions about her life growing up with soccer and how she feels about her future at the University of Montana.
Q: When did you start playing soccer?
A: I started playing soccer when I was around four years old.
Q: Why did you choose soccer?
A: I grew up in a soccer household, so I obviously had to play soccer, but I ended up finding a deep love for it and decided to continue pursuing it.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories during all of your soccer seasons growing up?
A: Some of my favorite memories during all of my soccer seasons are definitely traveling for tournaments and staying in the hotels as a team. My teammates and I really have grown close due to staying in the same rooms.
Q: What are some of your favorite parts about the University of Montana?
A: I have so many favorite things about the University of Montana, like the location, the team spirit, the soccer team, and so much more. But I would definitely say my favorite part is the team chemistry and coaching staff in their soccer team. It feels like one big family!
Q: What are you going to miss once we all graduate in 2026?
A: I will definitely miss Rosary soccer! It’s one of my favorite times of the year, and I will miss everyone that I played with while participating in Rosary’s varsity soccer.
Q: What are you most looking forward to while playing at the University of Montana?
A: I’m excited for the new challenge of D1 college soccer and getting to travel to new places and getting to play different schools. I am so excited for all the new friendships and memories I will make!
Q: What is some advice you would like to give to people on how to achieve their goals?
A: Some advice I would give to people is to keep going, even through the hard times. There may be times where things don’t go as planned or as you hoped. Just keep going and don’t let it interfere with your goals. I had some hard obstacles throughout the process but in the end, it was all worth it. Now I have found the perfect college for me!
We are beyond excited for you, Addie! Let’s all go support the Rosary soccer team during their season in the winter. GO GRIZZ!
