On Saturday, August 31, Rosary Cross Country had a race with the Great Cow Invitational at John Glenn High School, Norwalk. Up bright and early, Rosary runners made their way over to the race, ready to compete against other schools. The environment was warm, welcoming, and motivating. Rosary felt confident going into this race.
Many people from all over came together Saturday morning to all do something they all loved, running. Not only did high school students attend, but lots of people. Ages ranged all over the spectrum and Great Cow Invitational had races accommodating all levels and skill. What a wonderful way to start one’s day.
Many other high schools including Notre Dame Academy, St. Paul, Tustin High School, and Downey High School participated in the race. Rosary’s Varsity started right at 8 a.m. and competed in the Varsity race for high school students. Rosary’s JV team competed in their race for high school JV teams.
In all, Rosary was very successful, and our Varsity team placed 3rd overall after running a total of three miles. Our Royals took the crown and celebrated their victory.
Ava Oldewurtel states, “This was an amazing start to the season”, and we couldn’t agree more. Good job to both Varsity and JV Cross Country.
