The freshmen are settling into their first year of high school and are in the process of picking their class officers and voting for their class animal. Their class animal will represent them through their four years at Rosary as their “mascot.” Choosing a class animal is exciting, but everyone will have different preferences when it comes time to choose.
Most classes look for certain qualities in a class mascot like cuteness, Royal qualities, bravery, and strength. But will this year’s freshman follow these common guidelines?
Looking forward to having a class animal, Hailey Blankenship ‘28 already has ideas on what she would choose. She wants “the class animal to be a lion” because she views lions as “brave” and “cool” creatures. Known for their strength and power, lions are often associated with royalty and guardianship. However, despite her personal preference, Hailey thinks her class will choose a wolf for their class mascot.
Freshman Alexa Padilla is also eagerly awaiting the selection of her class animal. Unlike Hailey, she “does not want the class animal to be a lion because that was her previous school’s mascot.” Instead, Alexa would prefers a wolf as her class mascot to represent a fierce and independent class.
