It’s a new school year, and Rosary has welcomed many new teachers. One of our new teachers is the long-term religion substitute, Ms. Schmitt ’19, who also coaches the lower-level basketball teams and lacrosse team. Having graduated from Rosary a few years ago, we are so excited to see her back on campus. Keep reading to get to know Ms. Schmitt a little better!
Q: What is your favorite memory from when you were a student at Rosary?
A: We had a Red and Gold powder puff game my senior year and that was super fun—Gold won.
Q: What college did you go to? What was your major?
A: I went to Regis University in Denver, Colorado. I majored in criminal justice.
Q: Why did you choose to come back and teach at Rosary?
A: I love the culture here. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and the community is so fun and energetic.
Q: What are some of your favorite foods, shows, or songs?
A: I’d say Italian and Mexican. My favorite show is “Hawaii Five-0” and “Friends.” Right now, “Dance the Night” by Dua Lipa is really good and “How They Remember You” by Rascal Flatts.
Q: What’s your Starbucks order?
A: It’s the caramel vanilla swirl iced coffee. I’ve only had it twice, but it’s really good.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Relax, hang out with friends, self-care; mostly relax and sleep.
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
A: Fake it ‘til you make it.
Rosary’s student body and faculty are so happy to have another amazing teacher on campus; feel free to stop by Room 212 to say hello to Ms. Schmitt!
