Over the summer, I’ve watched so many amazing shows that are definitely worth your time. You’ve also most likely seen some of these shows promoted on Netflix, Peacock, and Amazon Prime with their exciting and humorous trailers and teasers. Are you curious if they’re worth your binge-watching time? To help you decide, Royals have taken on the task of reviewing some of the most talked-about shows over the past summer!
“Love Island”: Isabella Solis ’25
- What are your thoughts on the show?
“At first, I was skeptical because I only really watched it on TikTok, but became convinced and decided to get a Peacock subscription to watch it fully. And, omg, it was so good. The DRAMA was so good, and my favorite is definitely Leah, I fell in love with her.”
- Is it worth the watch?
“In my opinion, it was definitely worth the watch and if you’re looking for a juicy show, this will definitely be worth the watch for you.”
- How would you rate it?
“I’m going to give it a 10/10, 100% rotten tomatoes.”
“Gilmore Girls”: Giselle Gomez ’26
- What are your thoughts on the show?
“I love the pure aesthetic of this show. The iconic Autumn vibe of the early 2000s is just a dream. I personally relate to the show because it reminds me of my relationship with my mom. In so many ways I relate to Rory as a fellow sixteen-year-old being raised by a single mother and attending Catholic school while having a concerning love for literature and coffee. The quick wit of Rory and Lorelai is great for a laugh.”
- Is it worth the watch?
“It’s definitely worth the watch! I always loved the idea of a sweet supportive small town and getting to watch Rory grow up in that exact environment is heartwarming. While it may be a foreign concept to most people from SOCAL, it’s a beautiful fantasy. I’ve been a fan since birth and I’m sure I will be for a very long time.”
- How would you rate it?
“Rating: 9/10.”
“Outer Banks”: Sabrina Fructus ’27
- What are your thoughts on the show?
“It can get a little boring during different parts, but it is crucial to dedicate yourself to the show! Plus, they are releasing the newest season (season 4) on October 10!”
- Is it worth the watch?
“It is worth the watch if you enjoy a little mix of action, romance, and comedy.”
- How would you rate it?
“I would rate it a 100/10 or 10/10.”
“The Summer I Turned Pretty”: Natayla Castellanos ’28.
“‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ is a good show and one of my favorites! The whole show is about a girl named Belly, who always goes to a summer house with her brother, Steven, and family friends (Conrad and Jeremiah). This summer, she has a glow-up, and Conrad and Jeremiah both start to have feelings for her.”
- Is it worth the watch?
“It is for sure worth the watch and they’re coming out with season three and I’m so excited to see the new season!”
- How would you rate it?
“This show is so good I rate this 10/10!”
