Welcome back to school, Royals! To start off the new year, here are 10 back-to-school necessities that every Royal should have:
- Student ID – this will help you stay safe in the case of a school emergency and allow you to buy your lunch.
- Laptop – always bring this item to school so you can complete assignments for classes.
- Charger – have this on hand in case your computer dies, or you need to lend it to a friend.
- Planner – staying organized is a huge factor to being successful! You can write due dates, assignments and reminders that will help you throughout your academic journey.
- Folder/Notebook/Paper – it’s important to have the proper supplies for each class, especially if that class requires paper notes or assignments.
- Pencil Pouch – don’t forget to pack your pencil pouch, especially your stylus.
- Money – if you plan on buying food from the vending machine or the cafeteria, make sure to bring money in case your ID doesn’t work.
- Beauty Bag – this can be filled with anything that will help you when you need a little touch up. You can pack your beauty bag with extra hair ties or scrunchies, lip gloss, a tiny mirror, a travel deodorant, feminine products, and anything else you might need.
- Lunch Plan – come to school with a plan for lunch. If you want to buy lunch, don’t forget your money. If you plan on make your lunch, don’t forget to bring it.
- Water Bottle – staying hydrated is one of the most important factors to our health; bringing your own water bottle will not only aid in hydration, but it will also allow you to stay in class when you are thirsty.
Even teachers understand the importance of these essentials. Science teacher Mrs. Grasz explains why she thinks these items will be overall beneficial to have: “Student survival is at the same time personal and universal…Highlighters, notecards, sticky notes, fun-colored pens, these are things that make learning more stimulating and, dare I say, fun!”
If you bring all these 10 items, then you will be on the road to success! They will help you prepare, thrive, and be the best student you can be. Good luck this year, Royals!
