A couple weekends ago, Rosary and Servite’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Prom was held at the Yost Theatre in Santa Ana.
Prom season is a very exciting time for juniors and seniors. Many students meet up prior to the dance for dinner and pictures. Melanie Alban ’25 shared, “I love taking pictures before the dance and getting ready with friends; it’s definitely a part of the whole Prom experience.”
As students showed up around 7 p.m., they began voting for Prom King and Queen. Many students enjoyed the photo op section; the upstairs area with as pool, card games, and poker; and, most importantly, the dance floor.
At around 9:30 p.m., the Prom court came on stage, and the King and Queen were announced. Congrats to Gigi Coo ’24 and Moises Ibarra ’24!
Many people who attended said their favorite part was the DJ. Bella SolisĀ ’25 commented, “The DJ this year did not disappoint! With the previous dances, I was a little worried because the music makes the whole night, but he matched our energy and played everyone’s favorite songs.”
Roni Mercado ’25 added, ” My favorite songs he played were ‘Love’ by Kiesha Cole, ‘Flashing Lights’ by Kanye West, ‘Dancing Queen’ by Abba, and many more. It makes the dance ten times more enjoyable when the DJ plays songs everyone knows, and we can all sing together.”
Many seniors are super happy to have ended the school year with such a great night and wonderful memories. Alyssa McCreary ’25 says, “I’m so glad I got to share this dance with my senior friends. I will miss them so much, but I’m glad we have memories to look back on.”
Prom is one of the most loved and memorable dances, it was a wonderful way to end the school year. Happy summer!
