This past weekend, Royals and Friars enjoyed a night of fun and dancing at MORP. The dance was held at Servite on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
For those of you confused about the name “MORP,” it is Prom spelled backward. It is open to all grade levels, but it is a good way to give the underclassmen another dance (and I know that the upperclassmen enjoy going just as much).
The MORP theme this year was Western. Finley Hawkins ‘24 gave her opinion on the theme: “I liked the theme. I thought it was an easy one for everyone to participate in and enjoy. The simplicity was exactly what everyone was looking for.” I’m sure everyone was happy to have an excuse to wear cowboy hats and boots.
Lexie Curtis ‘27 shared, “I thought the dance was a lot of fun. I had a blast getting to see all of my friends and the best part was the mechanical bull. Not trying to brag, but I stayed on for 32 seconds.” The mechanical bull was definitely a good idea.
Jacee Baumann ‘24 always slays on the dance floor, but she danced extra hard because the D.J. was so good. “I really enjoyed the D.J. because he actually played the songs we requested. He played my Red & Gold Song, ‘Beauty and a Beat’ by Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj. It was so fun to dance to and the song is also a banger.” Hopefully, this song plays at prom too.
Overall, it is safe to say that students had a great time at Morp, and thank you Servite for hosting a fun night for everyone. As an upperclassman, I can’t wait to see how Prom is!
