On Thursday, March 21, Rosary held its spring sports rally in the Karcher Center. Royals and shadows kicked off a great start to the spring sports season with introductions of all this season’s sports: softball, lacrosse, swimming, beach volleyball, and track.
This rally’s theme was the Mario Kart video game. The Royals started by welcoming seniors as they made their grand entrance, followed by massive cheers from all classes.
After the seniors’ entrance, sports showed off their skills with fun videos that compiled clips of the team’s practices, players, and scrimmages.
Lacrosse athlete Diana Penaloza ‘26 represented her team and stated, “It was really exciting seeing our Rosary sisters cheer for us. It made the experience so much better and made me feel like I was supported by the girls around me; you can tell they cared!”
Between sports videos, ASB members picked Royals to participate in fun games: Hungry, Hungry Hippos and a variation of Simon Says. Participant Emma Aljurdi ‘26 said, “I had such a fun time playing at the rally! I made sure my shadow was getting hype so she got the full Rosary experience—we both had a great time.”
After all the fun games and videos, Athletic Director Mr. Tice went to the front of the Karcher Center and called all water polo players to come to the front, where they got a shoutout and unveiled their banner for their CIF Division 4 win!
After many pictures and even more cheers, Rosary freshmen won the coveted spirit stick for their outstanding participation in the rally.
Senior Gigi Coo gave her input on her last rally: “The senior’s energy during this rally was low–I think it was partly a victim of senioritis and the bittersweetness of it being the last one, but overall, it was really fun.”
Rosary wishes all athletes a safe, fun, and successful spring season. Go Royals!
