Easter baskets are a wonderful surprise to wake up to on Sunday morning and can include a variety of candies. I have collected some of the most famous Easter candies and ranked them from my favorite to my least favorite.
1. Cadbury Creme eggs
These Cadbury Creme candies are chocolate with a white, sugary filling and a yellow center to replicate an egg. Ava Barretto ’25 says, “These Cadbury eggs remind me of my childhood and are still one of my favorite Easter candies to this day. The first bite is always the best.”
2.Whoppers Mini Robin Eggs
The Whoppers Mini Robin Eggs are egg-shaped chocolate candies that come in many colors. These candies are one of my favorites because they have the perfect crunch. However, they take second place because while they are good, there is no shock factor, unlike the Cadbury eggs.
3. M&M’s Minis Easter Tubes
The M&M’s Minis Easter Tubes are much better than the regular sized M&Ms. With these being so delicious, finding them in your Easter basket is a wonderful delight. These are so yummy but could definitely be more original or geared toward Easter, hence why they take third place.
4. Peeps
Peeps are a sugar-coated marshmallow shaped like an Easter bunny. While these are pretty popular, I feel the marshmallow is very overpowering, so they earn fourth place. Melanie Alban ’25 shares, “Personally, I think Peeps are overrated; after I have one, I am already tired of them.”
5. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Eggs
These are ranked last due to my hatred for peanut butter. Not only that, but these are no different from regular Reese’s Cups besides being the shape of an egg. But some students feel otherwise; Angelina Avalos ‘25 explains, “I love the Reese’s Peanut butter cups so much, so why wouldn’t I love the Reese’s Easter eggs?”
If you gave up sweets for Lent, there are just a few days until Easter when you can enjoy some of these candies. Hoppy Easter!
