Red and Gold is almost here, with only two weeks until the performance! This Saturday, March 2, is the last dress rehearsal, which means finale songs will be announced.
The Red and Gold finale is filled with chaotic dancing, jumping, and singing, to wrap up each team’s show. The finale song is largely debated each year, with a range of opinions from each grade level.
Some students will love it, and others will never have heard of it until it’s played for the first time. Here are some predictions of what this years Red and Gold finale songs are:
Senior Briana Reyes shares, “I think Gold Team’s song will be ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’ by ABBA. This song would fit perfectly and get the audience pumped for our performance.”
Red captains Claire Heidelman ‘24 and Savina Padilla ‘25 believe their finale song will come from the soundtrack of ‘Hamilton.’ They explain, “Anything other than a ‘Hamilton’ song will be a mistake.”
Marci Rau ‘24 takes a different approach on her guess, expressing, “I think it is going to be ‘Surf Surf Crazy’ because our mascot is the Red Surfers.” Mandy Puga ‘24 agrees, saying, “I think it’s going to be something to do with the ocean or the beach. I just really hope it’s a hype song.”
Roni Mercado ‘25 does not have a specific guess, but she mentions, “I hope the song isn’t from TikTok. I want it to be more creative.”
Abby Zabala ’25 adds to Roni’s comment by stating, “Yeah I agree, but I hope I already know the lyrics to Gold’s song. Last year it was hard to memorize our finale song right before the show.”
Let’s keep these predictions in mind because the anticipation of the finale songs will come to an end this Saturday at Red and Gold rehearsal.
