The Rosary Academy Dance Team just got back from their trip to Florida after competing in the UDA National Dance Team Championship (NDTC), and the dance team is so proud of their performances.
UDA’s NDTC brings teams from across the nation to ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in the Walt Disney World Resort for three days of intense competition. NDTC is the most prestigious high school national championship in the country, and the Royal dancers were beyond proud to represent their school at this exciting event.
The first two days of the dance team’s trip consisted of practice to fine-tune any last minute details in their routines. The next three days were spent competing in the preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds. Finally, the trip ended with a fun day at Disney World in celebration of both teams.
Head Coach Dean Burboa is so proud of the team’s growth this season: “Florida 2024 was a really great experience for RADT! The overall ‘vibe’ of this team going into nationals was nothing short of amazing! I am so incredibly proud of every single one of our dancers and so grateful for the support of all of our parents! We saw really wonderful improvement from past years and we know the future of RADT is very bright, thanks to what the 2023-2024 team brought to not only the practice floor, but also the stage!”
Rosary’s JV and Varsity teams both competed in the pom and jazz categories. The JV team danced their way into finals and placed 7th in the small pom division. JV captain Phia Fletchall ‘26 shares her excitement: “I couldn’t be prouder of my team and I for making it to finals. The hard work and countless hours spent practicing all paid off.”
This competition marked a culmination of dedication, passion, and hard work the Royals have put into their routines this season. Senior Varsity Co-Captain Zoe Borowski shares her thoughts after attending her last UDA Nationals: “I am so proud of RADT for working hard all season and leaving it all out on the floor in Florida. It’s definitely bittersweet for the seniors but I can’t wait to come back and support the future teams.”
RADT’s season, however, does not end here. The Royal dancers will have their final national competition in Anaheim where they will get to show off their moves one last time.
Congrats, dance team, on an amazing week performing your outstanding routines!
