This past Monday, the sophomores of Rosary and Servite participated in a joint retreat; they engaged in some fun activities like lunch and a day of bowling. Some alumni from both Rosary and Servite imparted wisdom about making friendships that last a lifetime and how Rosary and Servite friendships were fun parts of their high school experiences.
The day helped strengthen existing bonds and started new friendships. Overall, the retreat was successful in creating a better-connected brother and sisterhood between Royals and Friars. The Royal Reporter got some honest opinions about the joint retreat:
Servite sophomore Joaquin Mercado shares his thoughts about the eventful day: “I enjoyed spending time with both Rosary and Servite’s sophomore classes. I learned a lot of information about friendships and relationships that will definitely help me in the rest of my high school years and in my college years ahead. Overall, the experience was very fun and I felt changed in a way.” The retreat is an opportunity to branch out of your comfort zone and talk to more people while having a fun time bowling.
Next, Rosary sophomore Bella Vallejo tells us about her experience: “I had a great time hanging out with my Rosary and Servite friends since we go to two different schools. I was not expecting the panel talk—it kinda threw me a little when they brought up dating a Servite guy. It was fun to bowl with my friends and connect and talk to more Servite guys since I don’t see them every day.”
Overall, the sophomore retreat was a success and allowed for Rosary and Servite students to get closer while mingling in a fun activity.
