“Welcome to the Eras Tour!”—the signature line of the one and only Taylor Swift. After taking a little bit of a break from touring, Taylor is officially back, beginning in Argentina and performing three nights so far. Of course, the shows were filled with many twists and surprises that left fans speechless and in pure awe.
Not only did Taylor have an amazing crowd and setlist, but she also had a couple new outfits she debuted. Besides her other three iconic “Lover” bodysuits, she added a new all-pink one with sparkly pink boots. She also wore a new pink blazer for her song “The Man,” and she looked incredible in it. Marcelena Rau ’24 shares her love for Taylor’s new outfits: “I love how she’s changing her style (pun very much intended). Even her new outfits within her concerts have been amazing—I mean, have you seen the new pink ‘Lover’/’The Man’ outfit?! I can’t wait to see what she does next.”
It would not be a Taylor Swift concert without a few surprise songs. On the first night of her concert, she performed “Labyrinth” from her “Midnights” album and “The Very First Night” from “Red (Taylor’s Version).” Both songs were enough to get the crowd hyped, screaming, and crying all at the same time.
On the second night, she sang “Endgame” from “Reputation,” and not only did she sing “Out of the Woods” from her “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” album, but she also mashed it with her newest vault track from “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” called “Is It Over Now?” The crowd went wild. On the third night, she sang “Better than Revenge” from “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and the “1989 (Taylor’s Version) vault track “[Censored]!” Overall, Taylor did NOT disappoint when it came to the surprise song portion of the concert.
It would not be a complete Taylor Swift update without a check-in relating to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Travis was spotted on the first night of the Eras Tour sitting with Taylor’s dad (his future father-in-law?). During the concert, Travis was seen singing along with Taylor, specifically the line in the song “Blank Space”—“Cause you know I love the players and you love the game,” which is perfect because Travis is a football player for the Chiefs.
During Taylor’s “Lover” set, while she was singing her famous lyrics “But who could stay,” from her song “The Archer,” Travis held up a sign that said “We will stay,” which made fans go CRAZY. Travis really knew how to win over Taylor and her entire empire of Swifties.
Taylor sang “Labyrinth” for Travis and also changed the lyrics in her song “Karma” from “Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.” The entire stadium went INSANE; even Taylor’s dad was going crazy while Travis was blushing.
Sophomore Tahlia Jain gives her opinion on the whole situation: “I’m so happy to see Taylor happy with Travis; the ‘Karma’ lyric change and Travis’ reaction was the cutest thing. I’m a little skeptical of the relationship because I don’t want her to get hurt or used, but everything seems to be going well right now.”
After the concert, fans saw Taylor run up to Travis and give him a hug and a kiss before walking into the backstage tent. The remaining fans sitting in the stands lost their minds, and a video showing the whole encounter left all Swifties speechless. Travis, you better not break her heart.
Overall, the Eras Tour in Argentina was a smashing success. Taylor debuted new outfits, new lyrics, and a new relationship. The Royal Reporter can’t wait for her upcoming shows in Brazil this weekend.
