This Friday, Nov. 17, a minimum of 10 service hours for juniors and seniors are due for the semester. Some programs that students can utilize are Higher Ground and the parish food distributions at St. Angela’s or St. Norbert’s on the weekends. For Higher Ground, students are asked to mentor kids, and it’s usually after school on the weekdays.
Religion teacher Mrs. Flati gives insight on why it’s important for students to carry out service and complete outreach hours: “We want students to continue to instill the charism of serving the dear neighbor and being the hands and feet of Christ.” Service helps Rosary students bring their faith to the greater community.
If you cannot get all 10 service hours in by this Friday, Mrs. Flati and Mrs. Kearns ’78 are allowing students to continue to work on their hours over Thanksgiving break, but the hard deadline before hours go in as an “I” in Aeries is Friday, Dec. 21.
