While Rosary’s beloved history teacher Mrs. Jenkins was on maternity leave, Royals spent time with a new substitute teacher: Ms. Brinegar ‘16. After taking over for Ms. Jenkins’ maternity leave, now she is teaching Mr. Bevins’ classes while he is off on paternity leave. Let’s get to know this returning alumna.
Q: What classes did you teach while taking over for Mrs. Jenkins?
A: I taught AP US History, AP European History, and Honors U.S. History in Mrs. Jenkins’ absence.
Q: What is your favorite topic to teach in these subjects?
A: My favorite topic to teach was the Columbian Exchange because it was a major cultural phenomenon that permanently altered history.
Q: What college did you go to, and what did you major in?
A: I went to Louisiana State University. I earned a B.S. in Sports Administration with a Minor in Business Administration.
Q: What is your favorite thing about teaching?
A: My favorite thing about teaching is getting to know the students! Finding ways to relate the topic to their interests is so much fun.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Rosary so far?
A: As an alumna, my favorite thing about being back at Rosary is participating in traditions like Rosary Day.
Q: Do you have any fun hobbies?
A: I’m the head lacrosse coach, so I love to watch and play lacrosse when I’m not in class. I also like painting and sewing.
Q: What is one fun fact about yourself that most students would not guess?
A: I don’t think most students would guess that romantic comedies are my go-to movies and TV shows.
