Now that Halloween is over and all of the ghosts and tombstones have gone away, it is time for the big debate: is it still fall season or is it Christmas season? Here is what Royals had to say about what season they are in.
When does Christmas start?
Sophomore Fin Velasco is passionate about her answer: “Christmas 100% starts on December 1st. Christmas time is only in the month of December. The countdown is the fun part.”
Ava Graham ‘26 adds, “Thanksgiving is great, but it is a little boring. All you do is eat food. Christmas is way more fun. It is the best holiday of the year.” Fellow Sophomore Ella Baroldi agrees, “Christmas starts now because Starbucks’ Christmas drinks come out November 2. Also, the Christmas season is so much fun, like decorating the Christmas tree and listening to Christmas music.”
Even shadows were getting into the discussion; when Alani, a seventh grade shadow, came on Wednesday, Nov. 1, she offered, “It starts the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving should not be looked over. It is a great holiday.”
Famously known for having some of the best Christmas decorations on campus, Mrs. Vazquez ‘17 commented, “I think it starts the day after Thanksgiving; pumpkin spice deserves its moment. Don’t rush the peppermint.”
If you’re in the Christmas mood, here is list of things to kick off the holiday fun:
- Put up Christmas decorations.
- Start planning a Christmas party.
- Listen to Christmas music (I highly recommend “Christmas Tree Farm” by Taylor Swift and “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by NSYNC)
- Get the new holiday drinks at Starbucks.
- Make a wish list.
No matter what mood you’re in, Christmas is definitely upon us. I am excited to put my Christmas tree up and drink all the hot chocolate in my holiday mug.
