Now that the Halloween season has ended, the next holiday for Royals to look forward to is Thanksgiving, a holiday that allows everyone to appreciate all the wonderful people in their lives.
During this season, apart from the regular Thanksgiving dinner with family, Friendsgiving, a Thanksgiving meal with friends, is another tradition more people should recognize. To fully capture the fall magic, the potluck-style meal should center around the traditional foods of the holiday, or people can bring foods that are important to them and their families.
Here are some activities to do at a Friendsgiving:
- Watch a fun fall-themed movie or TV show (ex: “Gilmore Girls”).
- Bake some fall-themed treats together (ex: pumpkin bread or pumpkin spiced cookies).
- Play board games.
- Decorate cookies.
- Take cute pictures.
- Start decorating for Christmas!
Sophomore Christina Vaughan explains her great appreciation for Friendsgiving: “I love Friendsgiving; it’s such a good opportunity to bond with friends while on Thanksgiving break.” Tahlia Jain ’26 agrees with Christina: “Friendsgiving is such a good time to catch up with friends because sometimes school is just too busy.”
Like Christina and Tahlia, sophomore Mia Gallegos is also enthusiastic for Friendsgiving: “I am so excited to host my Friendsgiving this year; I can’t wait to make fun memories with all of my friends. I’ve never done a Friendsgiving before, but I’ve heard about it, and so I decided I was going to officially host a Friendsgiving. I’m literally so excited.”
Thanksgiving break and the celebration of Friendsgiving is a special time for Royals. It’s a time to give thanks for amazing friends, families, and all the blessings Rosary brings. Happy Thanksgiving!
