This past Thursday was Rosary’s Club Rush, an event that demonstrates the semester’s new and renewed clubs so Rosary students can easily discover them and sign up. Senior Siena Lopez exclaims, “I really like Club Rush because it’s a nice way to get a preview of all the clubs by all of the posters and the way they present themselves. Go clubs!”
This year’s club rush was lively, and many of the students enjoyed learning about their fellow classmate’s clubs.
Here is a closer look at the first semester’s offerings:
Senior Sara Garcia is president of two clubs, the Environmental Club and the Academic Decathlon Club. Sara explained, “Environmental Club’s goal is to promote sustainable living in our community. This comes in the form of community events and a strong social media presence. Participating in it would mean having a very active role in promoting mindfulness in the lives of our community and in our own lives as well.” Founded by Sara in her sophomore year, the Environmental Club has been participating in many service activities, including beach clean-ups, for the last two years. This club is a super fun way to get involved in your community if you are passionate about the environment.
Rebecca Nasar ‘25 also has a club – the Royal Poets Society Club. Since they both have a shared passion for writing, Rebecca and Kate Piper ‘25 decided to take over the club after Rebecca’s sister, Mary Nasar ‘22, graduated. Rebecca stated, “This club collaborates on creative writing and members can share their love of poetry.” Kate also expressed, “We both love to write and hear other people’s writing.” At their meetings, their club empowers students to share things they’ve written or just come and listen.
The last club highlight is senior Bella Florin’s Yoga Club. Along with Vice President Siena Lopez ‘24 and Secretary Ava Perez ‘24, Bella started her club this year to help students grow in their understanding of the many benefits of yoga. When asked about her club’s purpose, Bella described, “It’s an interest club that focuses on my love for yoga. You learn about patience, stretching, and strengthening of the mind and soul.” She is super excited to have her first meeting in the coming weeks!
Joining a few different clubs around campus is a great way to meet new people, get involved in the many different activities around the school, and expand on passions and interests. If you missed Club Rush this semester, you can always look at the list of clubs on Rosary’s website!
