It’s a bit unusual for school on a Friday to last until 2:55 p.m., but what better reason than to celebrate someone the community regards with deep reverence?
Today, September 8, is a very special day for the Royals, for it’s the day the Catholic Church has chosen to honor Mary’s birthday. September 8 was designated because the Eastern Church begins in September, so the matching months seemed fitting. It also lands exactly nine months after the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception (the celebration of Mary’s conception of Jesus), which was preplanned.
One of the campus ministry students, Alyssa Ramirez ’24 said, “I am excited to go to Mass today and eat cupcakes with all my sisters.”
In fact, all Royals are welcome to stop by the tables set up outside the Karcher Center to pick up a cupcake from campus ministry in honor of this special day. Mrs. D’Alba also wanted to share a piece of advice to everyone on the special occasion, “Just as Mary said yes, each Rosary girl is called to say yes in her own way to live a life of faith.”
Happy Birthday to Mother Mary!
