This past week, Royals participated in their first Big and Little Sister Lunches of the year. For the freshmen, this was a new and exciting undertaking to meet their junior big sisters and participate in their first major Rosary tradition. Freshmen Shiloh Newman and Sophie Lickl as well as juniors Sophia Gomez and Jeslynn Abobo shared their thoughts on their first sister lunch of the year.
Juniors:
Q: How does it feel to finally be a big sister?
Jeslynn: Personally, becoming a big sister is an exciting experience, as I can now connect with my little sister through common interests and learn about her own perspectives on school life, as well as learn more about her! I’m also excited because I can share my own experiences and tips with her as she goes through her first year at Rosary and make fun memories with her!
Q: What is your favorite part about being a big sister?
Sophia: My favorite part about being a big sister would have to be the bond I have built and the comfort I have with my two sisters.
Freshmen:
Q: How was your first lunch with your big sister?
Sophie: My first lunch with my big sister was absolutely amazing. I got to learn more about know who she is and also learn more about the Rosary community.
Q: What was your favorite part about the lunch and are you looking forward to the next one?
Shiloh: My favorite part about the lunch was getting to socialize with one another, and yeah, I’m looking forward to the next.
Overall, it was another memorable Big and Little Sister Lunch. Big and little sisters have such a special bond that helps incoming freshmen feel more welcomed in the Rosary community and gives juniors an opportunity to truly feel like upperclasswomen. The big and little sisters can equally help and guide each other to feel more at home. Royals can’t wait for the next lunch to reconvene and get to know their sisters even better.
