Have you ever spent hours trying to pick out an outfit just for it to be ruined by streaky deodorant stains? The struggle to remove these stains is not only stressful, but also unsuccessful at times. I have experienced the emotional moment of ruining an outfit because of my inability to remove such stains, but to help you avoid the same fate, I have generated a list of effective stain-removal methods.
The first product you can try was brought to my attention by senior Ava Gonzalez. She recommends using wet wipes and even keeps a pack on her as she goes about her day. Ava knows all too well the struggle of deodorant stains: “I don’t even know how they appear on my shirt but at least I figured out a good way to get rid of them.” Although I have never tried this method, I watched Ava wipe away her stains without a struggle during Biology class. Wet wipes get a 10/10 in effectiveness.
The next method requires a used dryer sheet. This is my personal go to method because it has never failed to succeed. Alumna Jade Sandoval ’21 discovered this method while frantically trying to find something to fix her stained homecoming dress. She closely avoided disaster while creating a new way to recycle her old dryer sheets. Jade states, “All my college friends use this new life hack and they love how they get more use out of their buy.”
The last method is the most thought provoking one by far. Varsity cheerleader Lily Curtis ’24 admitted that she and her fellow cheerleaders have used the Rosary dark plaid skirts to remove deodorant stains from their Servite Cheer uniform. Nobody understands why this would work, but intensely rubbing the skirt against stained clothes works wonders. Lily states, “There was nothing else we could use and we were getting desperate.” Although this may seem insane, other Royals have confirmed that this method is effective. Sophomore Carol Reyna-Jackson explains, “In desperate times, the Rosary skirt worked a miracle to save my favorite outfit.”
I hope my research helps you Royals stay safe and fresh, especially with the heat coming in. These methods could help make or break a great outfit.
