Meet Rosary’s newest religion teacher: Mr. Rosetti ’11! Many students may know him as a substitute teacher from last year, but the Rosary community is very excited to welcome him as the newest addition to the Religion Department. Currently, he is teaching three sophomore classes and two freshman classes, all back-to-back. Mr. Rosetti actually started his career at Servite, serving as a substitute teacher and long-term substitute teacher for his alma mater, then eventually moving to our beloved campus. So, let’s get to know Mr. Rosetti a little better:
Q: What was the transition from substitute teacher to full-time teacher like at Rosary?
A: There were definitely some things that were new to me that I did not expect would surprise me being a new teacher, but I’ve encountered and experienced a lot Servite that has made me prepared for this job.
Q: What college did you go to and what did you study there?
A: I studied politics, philosophy, and economics at The King’s College in New York.
Q: How does teaching at Rosary compare to teaching at Servite?
A: I love teaching at both, but it is so different. Both schools have their strengths and challenges, but I love the environment at Rosary.
Q: Why do you like teaching religion?
A: I just love the topic as a whole, it is always something I have been interested in. I could talk about religion for hours!
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I do not have a lot of free time because most of it is occupied by my part time jobs, that being said, when I have free time I listen to podcasts, play video games, and watch TV shows about looking for bigfoot.
Q: Who’s your favorite musician/band/song and why?
A: Favorite musician: Stevie Nicks. Band: Rolling Stones. Song: “Gimme Shelter” by the Rolling Stones.
Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Yes! I have two dogs: Prince Peanut and Coco Chanel.
Q: What is your dream vacation and why?
A: It is between Iceland or Fiji, but Japan and South Korea are up there too. Iceland because it is so pretty, it is truly God’s country, I would love to go there to go sightseeing. Fiji because it is so beachy, tropical, and warm, I could spend all day on the beach. I would go to Japan to experience the culture and to immerse myself in all the anime creation that goes on there. Finally, I would love to go to South Korea for BTS.
Q: What are you excited about for the 2023-2024 school year and/or what goals do you have for yourself?
A: I am excited about Red and Gold, I really liked it last year and I love waiting to hear the different themes then trying to choose which team to root for based on their themes.
My personal goal this year is to get through all lesson plans! As a teacher, I would like for my students to leave my class at the end of the year having learned something positive (especially a piece of wisdom) that they did not know before and they will take with them for the rest of their life.
The Rosary community is so grateful to welcome yet another blessing to our campus, Mr. Rosetti! We hope to continue to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for Mr. Rosetti and all our new faculty and staff.
