Everything I will miss about Orange County
May 5, 2023
In just a few months, I will be leaving my hometown for the first time in my life to attend college. Although Orange County has its downsides—such as Huntington Beach—it is still perfect in my eyes, and I can’t believe I have to say a temporary goodbye.
As I have lived in the O.C. for 18 long years, I have made countless memories all over the county, and I hold so many specific locations near to my heart. Here is a list of places all over Orange County that have been key parts of my childhood:
1. 32nd St, Newport Beach
2. The Richard Nixon Library
3. Yorba linda Blue Scoop
4. The Orange Circle (R.I.P. to the fountain)
5. Urth Café at the Orange Circle
6. Disneyland (specifically the Churros and Bread Bowls)
7. Knott’s Scary Farm (shout out to the Boysenberry cream cones)
8. Being driving distance from the beach and LA
9. Yorba Linda Avalon
10. Imperial Highway
11. Chuck-E-Cheese in Placentia
12. Camelot Golfland
13. Getting In-N-Out after any public function
14. The Brea Mall (specifically as a middle schooler)
15. The Fashion Island Urban Outfitters
16. TK Burgers in Newport
17. Kopan Ramen
18. Cinema City
19. The beautiful drive to Laguna Beach
20. The Servite theatre
21. Seeing someone wear a Bass Pro Shop hat every time I turn a corner
22. St Martin’s Oktoberfest
23. The O.C. Fair
24. Joe’s Italian Ice
25. Driving down PCH
26. The Irvine Spectrum (as a middle schooler)
27. The 91 freeway
28. Trista’s dad’s house and her dog
29. Olive Seed Café
30. Cucina Enoteca at Fashion Island
Over the next few months, I plan on visiting each of these places one last time to heal my soul. So, if you see me roaming 32nd St every single day this summer, mind your business.
