Fashion review: Coachella weekend two
April 27, 2023
Sunday, April 23 marked an end to Coachella weekend two, and without further adieu, here are some of my favorite fashion moments from the weekend.
- Benee
Benee got it right. The cropped jacket is perfect (even though I generally despise cropped jackets), and I really love the cargo-like, pocketed pants. It seems as though this is mainly a suede outfit, which is something I really appreciate, and the body suit underneath it all ties the outfit together. Everything–from her blonde bangs, to the glasses, to her silver rings–brings this look to life, and it screams ‘I’m cooler than you–and I know it.’
- Bad Bunny
There’s something so sweet about an all-denim look that’s been precisely executed, and there are several aspects of this outfit to be fond of. First off, the small details on the jacket, the belt clasp, and the pant legs are miraculous. Of the three, I’d say the pants stand out the most, as I’ve never seen a stitch pattern add so much character to denim before. The best part of this look (and every well-executed denim look) is that the pants and the jacket are two slightly different, yet complementary, shades of blue. One doesn’t wash or drown out the other, but they work well together, and highlight each other’s aesthetic areas.
- Maddie Zeigler
Lately, Maddie Zeigler has epitomized the phrase ‘fashion forward’ through iconic yet effortless streetwear. I think this look, from top to bottom, is satisfying and easy on the eyes. Although it’s by no means a ‘traditional’ Coachella ensemble of sparkly fringe and cowboy boots, I think Maddie, along with many other celebrities, is attaching a more casual innuendo to the idea of Coachella and what it means for fashion. My favorite part of this outfit is the skirt and its flowy feel, which matches the desert vibe of the festival to a T.
- Kali Uchis
Kali Uchis’s sequin, baby blue outfit added to the dreamy vibe of her set-list and performance. I personally enjoyed seeing the get-up’s puffy fringe flow in the wind as she sang, and her hair and makeup added a sophisticated touch to this vibrant look. Only Kali Uchis can pull-off an outfit like this, and I will most assuredly die on that hill.
- Rosalia
In all honesty, I don’t know how to feel about this top and the way it parts into strands. On one end, I think the ruffles blowing in the breeze make the singer look like a goddess, but on the other, it’s giving a slight tentacle air. Nonetheless, I love this, and I love Rosalia.
I’m not sure weekend two can be beat, but stand by for more upcoming Coachella looks.
