The year of wildcards is upon us with an abundance of new celebrity couples surfacing. So far, 2023 has brought some of the most random and shocking pairs to date, and we are here to discuss a few of the most surprising ones.

• Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet

Starting off extremely strong, creator of Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner, and “Bones and All” star, Timothee Chalamet (add accent in SNO), sparked big dating rumors in the tabloids. Sources have stated that the two have been keeping their relationship under wraps from the public eye; however, Jenner’s car was seen parked outside of Chalamet’s house confirming many tabloid and fan speculations. This might be the most random couple on the planet as the two have little mutual connections and exist in completely different realms of the celebrity world, but what can you say, opposites do attract.

• Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny

Off to the next Jenner sister, Kendall, and her new boyfriend, Bad Bunny. Now, this new couple has shocked the internet causing many mixed feelings within the Bad Bunny nation (or fan club). As a fan of Bad Bunny myself, I was originally sick to my stomach over the news of him dating the beautiful Kendall Jenner. This is now the second husband of mine that Ms. Jenner has stolen from me, the first being Harry Edward Styles. After taking time to mature, I have come to appreciate the new couple as I feel they look great together and have matching personalities. While some may not support the Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny partnership, one cannot deny that their recent Coachella date was ICONIC.

• Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes

Another unforeseeable celebrity couple involves the hit country singer, Kelsea Ballerini, and Outer banks actor, Chase Stokes. Both Kelsea and Chase are recently single and have been seen together multiple times on social media. In one Instagram post created by Stokes, they were seen cozied up together at a football game. Most recently, Kelsea officially announced their relationship when she was a guest star on a podcast. As Kelsea and Chase are not remotely connected in any way, this relationship was a total surprise. However, nobody can deny that they are an adorable couple.

• Harry Styles and Emily Ratajkowski

This one breaks my heart to talk about, but it must be mentioned—Harry Styles and actress, Emily Ratajkowski. Just another beautiful supermodel who has stolen the eyes of my beloved husband. Now, this unexpected pairing was rumored to be dating after a video surfaced of Styles in Japan dancing with Ratajkowski in the streets. The video—which was filmed on a 2002 toaster oven—spread like a wildfire among the many Harry Styles fan accounts (which I all follow). Since the Japan-gate video took over our screens, there has been no sightings of the pair since, leaving the world to wonder if this fling will continue any further.

• Avril Lavigne and Tyga

Last, but definitely not least, at the recent Paris Fashion Week, 2000s pop star, Avril Lavigne, and famous rapper, Tyga, confirmed their romance at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer after party. Soon after their big announcement, they were spotted in public multiple times. A source had told People magazine that they describe their relationship as “very casual.” I was shocked to find out that my preteen pop queen is dating the rapper who created the banger song “Rack City.” I was even more surprised to find out that Ms. Lavigne is five years older than Tyga. Although Avril Lavigne and Tyga are both involved in the same industry, this combo will always be jarring.
