“Outer Banks” season three review
March 3, 2023
“Outer Banks” season three came out on Netflix on Feb. 23. The show quickly climbed to the top as number one on Netflix, which many aren’t surprised about.
The show is set in North Carolina and consists of the mystery and friendship between John B, Sarah Cameron, Kiara Carerra, JJ Maybank, and Pope Heyward (aka the Pogues). The last season left its fans on a complete cliffhanger, and we, like many others, have been anxiously awaiting this new season, so we thought the only way to celebrate was to have a watch party. After finishing the season, we are here to share our thoughts.
Each episode was filled with intense anxiety and starting off, we didn’t know if we were going to be able to finish the show. After episode three, though, we were hooked. Even though the drama was really intense, the show allowed us to embrace our inner beachy, teenage vibes.
Charlotte Jordan ’23 is a huge fan of “Outer Banks”: “‘Outer Banks’ is a guilty pleasure and provides more comfort than most of the things in this life. I wish I was a Pogue running free and silly in North Carolina.” She said it best.
The new season was a little unrealistic at times. It kicked off with the Pogues stranded on a deserted island for about a month. Nonetheless, they had perfect hair, perfect skin, and expensive tank tops that looked fresh out of Urban Outfitters. The most realistic part of their stay was Sarah Cameron’s grown-out roots.
Overall, we enjoyed the show and it made us super excited for summer. The show was officially renewed for a fourth season, but we really don’t know how much more action-packed the show can get. We would definitely say the show grabbed and held our attention, and we are definitely interested in what the next season will have in store. Give it a watch if you haven’t already!
