One of Rosary’s most beloved traditions, Rosary Day, recently occurred on Friday, October 8. This tradition is a special day for the juniors to receive their class ring as well as earn the title of becoming an upperclassman. However, what would a real Rosary Day be without taking a look at all the different dresses each junior wore?

Let’s be honest, as each junior walks down the aisle in the beginning of the ceremony, everyone is looking at one thing—the dresses. Every year, we get to see the juniors whip out an adorable midi length dress styled with either a dainty little cardigan to modestly cover up the shoulders, or worn without a little coverup to show off the cute sleeves. Having experienced a Rosary Day myself, finding the perfect dress to wear in front of the entire student body, plus all of administration, is quite stressful. Let’s take a look behind the scenes of a few juniors and what their final decision was for a dress.

Because the dress requirements are extremely limited for this Rosary event, it is very likely for multiple girls to be wearing the exact same dress. I mean come on, I even remember three girls last year from my grade who wore the exact same dress. The dress was super cute though–they all looked great. However, this year there were at least two duos with the exact same dress. Claire Heidelman ’24 shared, “I don’t mind having the same dress as someone. It’s bound to happen. Everyone basically looks on the same exact websites. Everyone ate it up this year.”

Now let’s take a peek at some of the other girls who rocked their dresses individually. While most girls get their dresses from every Rosary girls favorite Australian website, Hello Molly and Selfie Leslie, Leah Gimenez ’24 changed it up quite a bit. Leah shared, “I got my dress from Kohl’s.” Kohl’s is honestly so underrated because Leah looked stunning in her midi dress.

Every Rosary girl knows or has heard of the famous website, Hello Molly. Let’s be honest, this website is legit. Although every girl shops on this website, they have such cute dresses. McKinley Fregoso ’24 played it safe this year by finding her dress on Hello Molly. McKinley shared, “I knew other girls were looking on Hello Molly also, but I didn’t care. I didn’t want to make looking for a dress difficult, and I knew they would have something perfect for me.”

Aside from the dress itself on the juniors big day, the shoes are also very important to complete the look. Mrs. Huerta ’94 always strongly recommends to never wear heels, and I believe this is great advice. Walking on the grass with heels is awful. A small little heel doesn’t hurt so that is always acceptable. However, most girls usually choose to wear the classic platform sandals. Briana Reyes ’24 shared, “Some girls in my friend group wore sandals, and others wore small heels. I wore small heels, and I honestly had no problem wearing them. I mean, I am 5’2, so a little height never hurts for me.”

That’s a wrap on the Class of 2024’s Rosary Day fashion. If you are a current sophomore, or even a freshman, definitely take each detail into consideration. Rosary Day is a special day for juniors, and of course you want to look good on the big day. Finding the perfect dress may be difficult, but as long as you are comfortable that is what really matters the most.
