CIF Wrap-up
May 20, 2022
All of the Rosary Academy spring sport athletes have wrapped up their season with track and lacrosse wrapping up successful CIF runs.
Seven track athletes competed at Moorpark Highschool in the CIF Southern Section Finals. Senior captain Lauren Aquino shared, “This year was so special for the track team. Going from only one girl qualifying for CIF finals to seven this year was extremely incredible. I am so proud of all the girls for all the hard work they have done this past year. Everyone did so amazing at finals, and I could not have wanted a better ending for the season.”
The 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m team set new personal records and placed in the top three in division four. The 4 x 100m team placed 2nd place, and the 4 x 400m placed 3rd. Member of both relay teams Francesca McGuire ’23 said, “I’m super proud of our team and how hard we worked. All of the success was well deserved.”
The lacrosse team made it to the quarterfinals of CIF and senior captain Francesca Passafiume shared her love for the team: “I am so proud of my team and all we have accomplished this season. This team made playing so much fun, especially in the CIF games. Having never been to CIF in school history, the hype-ness and energy these girls brought out was insane, and I am so proud of my team for making it so far. They worked so hard for such an amazing season, and I am so honored to have been the captain of this team. They truly are my best friends, and I’m excited to come back and see how much they have all improved.”
Congratulations to all the spring sport athletes who made it to CIF and to all their teammates on a wonderful spring campaign!
