Dearest Skylar,

My little skylark

How I miss you when we are apart

Your chirps brought such joy to my heart

I ponder in sadness

Don’teth not mis’eth thee?

Nothing can stop my devotion to you

Nor the waves of the sea

I try to stay strong yet

The woe and sorrow I feel tonight

Where is my little skylark?

I will not go home, it doesn’t feel right

Never stop chirping little skylark

For the room feels so cold

Empty as the desk that sits behind me

Since your presence was so bold

Please take these longing words

As an imploring sign

To return to the world of writing

So all is divine

Come back with your freedom

So I can stop being so blue

Come back so I can close your cage

For the skies are silent without you

Your friend,

Blue jay
