FaLaLaLaNAH Christmas movies
December 2, 2021
Before the Thanksgiving break, I wrote an article about Thanksgiving movies that you SHOULD watch, and now I’m going to be compiling a list of Christmas movies guaranteed to be worse than the feeling you get when you open your last present.
1)”Krampus”
Rather than being jolly and bright, this movie ATTEMPTED to bring an overwhelming feeling of jolly and FRIGHT to the audience. Instead, the movie delivered a whole lot of cringe and even more “monsters” that incited laughter rather than fear. Killer gingerbread men, a teddy bear, and a jack-in-the-box are all factors of the movie that take away from the main antagonist—Krampus. Despite the brief references to the German origins of Krampus, this movie does not stay on track with reimagining the folktale; therefore, this movie made me jingle all the way to the power button on my remote.
2)”Home Alone 3″
Let’s face it, you just can’t beat the classics. This movie is guaranteed to make you have a holly FOLLY Christmas. Why is this you may ask? Fake Kevin. Who is this new protagonist?! Not the loveable Macaulay Culkin? Not my Kevin. Although the plot was similar to the two other “Home Alone” movies before it in order to give the audience nostalgia, it did anything but, and instead felt repetitive and unoriginal.
3)”Fatman”
Did I watch this movie? No. Did I have any desire to watch this movie? No. Featuring Mel Gibson as Santa, more specifically Chris Cringle, the movie follows his partnership with the United States military. Killer Santa? Bizarre. The directors of this flop of a film DESERVE to be on the naughty list.
4)”Jack Frost”
Ah yes, a movie with a snowman as the protagonist! Wait…let me change my word choice. AHHHH a movie with a TERRIFYING snowman as the protagonist!? This movie is decking my nightmares with boughs of absolute petrification. If you’re curious about the plot, it follows absent father and husband, Jack Frost (Michael Keaton), as he makes amends with his son as a reincarnated snowman. If you want the image of a creepy snowman embedded in your mind this whole holiday season, watch this movie!
Please watch all these movies at your own risk. They will ruin your holiday spirit. And they will make you want to get curbed stomped by all nine of Santa’s reindeers. Feel free to comment some other horrendously unfortunate Christmas movies below!
