Podcast reccomendations
November 8, 2021
Starting a new week can be difficult for some, especially if it involves waking up early in the morning. But I think I have a solution that can make it better: listening to podcasts! You can take them anywhere and do absolutely anything while listening to them, and the perfect podcast can help start your day right.
Since my friend and I both listen to a good amount of podcasts, I thought it would be nice to share some here.
Without further ado, here are some podcast recommendations:
The Moth
If you enjoy diverse storytelling, this podcast is for you! The Moth is a podcast that allows people from different backgrounds to share their stories with the world, all in the comfort of your own home. They speak live with a mic in front of a group of people, making it seem as if you’re a member in the audience, allowing the experience to be much more engaging.
Mytholadies
Mytholadies is hosted by two friends (Lizzy and Zoey) who talk about mythology and folklore around the world, but what’s truly great is that this centers around the women in these stories (talk about gatekeep, gaslight, girlboss, am I right?). One thing that I enjoy about this podcast is not only do they look into the characters’ roles in the stories, but how the women are portrayed and the cultural influences behind them as well. Regardless of the women’s role in the myth/legend, the hosts firmly believe that their stories are still worth telling.
The Mindful Kind
Another podcast I listen to is The Mindful Kind. The host Rachel Kable gives out simple mindfulness and self-care tips. What’s great is that each episode is very short, making it an easy listen before starting your day.
Growing With The Flow
I would say that Grow With The Flow is like a diary, but in the form of an audiobook (even though this is a podcast, haha). The host Nayna Florence has such a nice, chill vibe, which makes it feel as if I’m on a call with a friend instead of listening to a podcast. Some of the things she talks about are school, young adulthood, transitions in life, and self-care. I listen to this most mornings (assuming I get out of bed early) which is a great way for me to start my day.
I hope you enjoyed learning about these podcasts and that this has encouraged you find more podcasts to listen to as well.
